What Sabine Is Doing: Watching
Next up: things to watch!

Television
There isn't much on this list, because I honestly don't watch a lot of TV anymore. But please enjoy these selections.
Taskmaster (Dave youtube channel (s1-4 and outtakes, censored)/dailymotion (all seasons, bootleg))
THIS FUCKIN SHOW. So the premise of Taskmaster is that a group of five British comedians (and one Canadian and a Kiwi, so far) are given a series of tasks, to be judged by the Taskmaster. And then it goes completely off the fucking rails. The only kink that it hasn't had so far is spanking and we're kind of amazed it hasn't. We're talking D/s, size kink, food play, leashes, humiliation, SPH, bondage, the list goes on and on. And kinks or not, it makes me laugh so hard the whole house can hear it. You can watch the seasons in any order, though you need to have seen 1-5 to watch the Champion of Champions; my fave seasons are S4, which is maybe the kindest and gentlest season, and S7, because it has Rhod Gilbert in it, my favorite unhinged Welsh sadist. Oh, and if you like it, know that they're scheduled to make six more seasons of this utter nonsense.
Good Omens (Amazon Prime)
You've watched Good Omens already, but consider watching it again if you need reassurance in a dark time.
Designing Women (Hulu)
Look I don't even know how to explain why you should watch Designing Women. Take The Golden Girls and make it REALLY Southern. It has continuity, but it's sitcom from the 80's so it really doesn't matter very much. It's just a nice brain vacation to watch sassy ladies being sassy, and I am turning more into Julia Sugarbaker with every passing day.
Castlevania (Netflix)
DON'T SPOIL SEASON 3 FOR ME I HAVEN'T FINISHED IT YET. But do go watch Castlevania. It's very stylish and satisfying.
Polar Bear's Cafe (Crunchyroll)
This is the kindest, gentlest show I have ever watched. It's about a polar bear who runs a cafe? All his patrons are animals? But somehow there are also still humans? He and his best friend Grizzly are definitely 190% an item? It's so weird but it's like a warm hug on a cold day.
Ace Attorney (Crunchyroll)
Look you knew I was going to put this on here. But I really enjoy the anime-only content that they added, and it's an accessible way to get into the series if you don't like video games. And somehow they fixed Turnabout Big Top??? Which is a modern fucking miracle.
That Mitchell and Webb Look (Youtube, or wherever you can get it)
I believe I only ever watched S1 and S2 of this sketch series, and god I forgot how hilarious it is. I could only get ahold of seasons 3 and 4 in full eps, but I'm going to try to dig deeper in the wilds of youtube and find the rest. For some ridiculous reason, it's not streaming legally anywhere at all. But pursuant to this, I'm going to try Peep Show next, which is on Amazon Prime. I will say that it is irreverent, sometimes dark humor, and while I don't feel it's particularly *ist, there are some jokes that, particularly as a Southern American, hit me differently than the intended audience. There's more than one sketch with jokes about the Klan, and I got through it, but that's a thing I find legimately horrifying. So, ymmv.
Youtube channels
I was going to give you links for all of these, and then I realized life was too short. You can just search for them.
Ashens/extraashens
Ashens is probably the first youtube channel I ever followed regularly. It's kind of an unboxing channel, but also a comedy channel, but also a nerd channel. If you're frustrated by Funko Pops and like a bit of the absurd, I recommend it. As a bonus, I also made this playlist of all the talks he's given about video game history, as he does have a PHD in this stuff and has written two books about it. The youtube movie he made, Ashens and the Quest for the Game Child, is actually pretty good, and the sequel, Ashens and the Polybius Heist, is out later this year. [Update: TIL his PhD is in psychology? So probably unrelated to classic computing but he does know a lot about it]
Outside Xbox/Outside Xtra
I love these British gamers sfm. A combination of let's plays, list videos, and weekly chat shows, with a pleasing, sharp, but not mean sense of humor. They also have a D&D show, Oxventures, which is very, very good, though I am an arc behind on it.
Ask a Mortician
I've only just gotten into Caitlyn's videos, which are about death and death-adjacent topics and history, especially involving dead bodies. She also has videos about the death positive movement; the most recent one was about trans rights. It's morbid, but it's a kind of healthy morbidity, where she seeks to demystify rather than glorify or fetishize death.
ProZD
You've seen his comedy videos on twitter, but I am always happy to see him in my youtube list. Most everything is short skits, usually with an anime or video game focus, though he also does some unboxing stuff (but I usually skip those tbh).
LockPickingLawyer
Youtube kept offering me this and they were right. Just a guy who picks locks really well and talks about safety. I find it extremely satisfying.
Mayapolarbear
LOOK AT THIS DOGGO
Louie Zong
Smol pieces of music and occasional McElroy content. Very soothing.
Dave Wave/The Musical Ghost
These are two different people, but both of them are remixes, mostly electroswing.
Fraser Connell/geothebio/Lucas Hespenheide
Again, different people, but I follow them all for McElroy animations.
Jamel_aka_Jamal
I'm not sure how to describe this channel. This dude listens to music or watches music videos that he's never experienced before. The purity of his enjoyment is just really special. I recommend starting with the Allman Brothers.
Theme park youtube
All I did was watch one Defunctland video and everything got wildly out of hand. All these channels are generally the same kind of content, so I'm not going to provide individual descriptions. They're a mix of documentary and opinion pieces on theme parks and theme park history.
Yesterworld Entertainment (mostly history, entertainment and theme park)
Rob Plays (exclusively Disney, the company and the parks, some opinion but his opinion is always that Disney is doing a great job and change is good)
Defunctland (longform pieces about theme park, Disney, and children's television history; seasons 2 and 3 and the Jim Henson series have continuity)
Themed Alternative (this is where Debunkedland is hosted now, along with an RPG show and some other random content)
Offhand Disney (kind of a mix of everything)
And I don't actually watch Disney Dan, but if you're looking to round out your theme park youtube experience, he goes on the list. He seems like an affable sort.
