If you're going to see Splice, don't be surprised when it turns out to be a hardcore horror movie, and a triggery one at that. Go and check out
seperis or
mashimero's journals for further warnings.
I wasn't going to go see it anyway, based on Roger Ebert's review, where he was all, "Oh, it was great, but the third act was so predictable." Well, the third act is TOTALLY NOT AT ALL WHAT I WOULD HAVE PREDICTED, apparently, and I'm def. not seeing it now, cause I just don't need that in my life.
I'm so torn, because Vincenzo Natali is making the new Neuromancer movie, and I want it to be good so badly. And I wanted Splice to do well so Neuromancer would have a better shot at actually happening, but dude, not if this is the trade-off.
(Happier post later. I didn't want to combine them, y'know?)
