My favourite story this year (of my own): Nice Place To Visit, obviously. It's my baby. I also have a soft spot in my heart for Individually Wrapped.
My best story this year: The Ethical Life. It has a few problems, and I took ENORMOUS historical liberties, but it's just super solid and well paced, and I really was able to capture the sense of place and time that I was going for.
Most successful fic: Using comments, it's kind of hard to say, because the SGA fandom suffered a noticeable commenting drop-off over the course of the year, but, Four Blatant Lies About Atlantis (And One Thing That's Totally True) is still the winner. I really have no idea why. Also way up there: Public Timeline. Clearly, silly humor is the way to go.
If the success of a story is determined by how many recs it got, Home Training is the clear winner, with Tea and Sympathy and The Ethical Life right behind it. I should also throw the fics I wrote for
john_farr in there too, because of the enormous response they generated.
Story most tragically underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I want to say Nice Place To Visit, but I've come to the realization that absolutely no amount of comments would have been enough. Like, the whole fandom could've showed up at my doorstep and gone "TRULY, THIS IS THE NEW WRITTEN BY THE VICTORS" and I still would've gotten emo and sad about it, because it was just where I was mentally when it came out.
Most fun story: But It's the Pelvic Thrust was a whole hell of a lot of fun to write, as was The Want of a Nail, which was just fun as hell despite being in first person, which I usually dislike. Public Timeline was also great, because it was just me and
arymabeth messing around on AIM, which is always the best.
Most sexy story: Probably Agenda, though Civilized Man has a whole lot going for it as well.
Story with single sexiest moment: Hmmph. I have been puzzling over this question. But I think I have to go with this bit from Civilized Man:
But mostly because I have such a huge thing for strappado bondage.
Most unintentionally *telling* story: Uh, maybe Narcissus in Bloom, actually? Because I'd completely do my clone.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: The Book of Changes. It was a story that lived in my head for a really long time, and it changed the way I thought about Inara. She sort of gets a bad rap because she makes everything look so easy, y'know? When nothing really has been for her.
Hardest story to write: Writing Nice Place To Visit, of course, was an immense labour. And the thing about it was not that it was hard to write- because I wrote the majority of it quite quickly, because the story was always complete in my head- but that it made everything else hard to write. For a while there, writing anything was a massive hassle, and it didn't help that I suddenly developed crazy anxiety issues out of nowhere that were (are) the worst over fanfic.
So the drama.
Worst story: Get Away. It's the Madame Bovary.
Easiest story to write: Public Timeline, because we really did just write it apropos of nothing at like four in the morning.
Story I’d like to revise: I don't really like to revise stories? Actually, that's a lie- I constantly revise them in lots of little ways, but I do it silently.
Story I didn’t write but will at some point, I swear: God, there are SO MANY. I HAVE MANY MANY FOLDERS FULL. IT DOES NOT EVEN BEAR DISCUSSING.
Final thoughts: Well, I'm pleased! Despite having a long dry spell and many other pitfalls along the way, I think I made a pretty good showing. I didn't make my 100 story goal, but I did almost triple my projected word count, so I got that going for me, which is nice. I wrote a lot more porn than in previous years, including kinkier (read: hotter) stuff. I also finished my longest fic ever! Which more than doubled the word count of my previous longest fic ever! Overall, I'm quite proud of what I produced this year (which is good, because I'll be, er, in the jungle for a lot of 2010). Now, if I could only finish the fifty-odd things I started and left hanging...

I should also throw the fics I wrote for
Story most tragically underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I want to say Nice Place To Visit, but I've come to the realization that absolutely no amount of comments would have been enough.
Public Timeline was also great, because it was just me and
Most sexy story: Probably Agenda, though Civilized Man has a whole lot going for it as well.
Story with single sexiest moment: Hmmph. I have been puzzling over this question. But I think I have to go with this bit from Civilized Man:
As it stands, though, it's just enough to compel him to bend downwards, his spine arching beautifully. He just makes such a gorgeous picture- his face flushed and glistening with sweat, his cock achingly hard against his stomach, the smooth, long lines of his muscles in full display- all of it backlit by the sunset outside the window.
