1. In the category of "I am always late to the party"/"I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt":
a. If you were ever wondering what it would look like if him and Claudia Schiffer were all climbing all over each other (as we all so often do), here is your chance to find out. Did I mention there is inappropriate use of a tie? I feel like it's important.
b. HitRECord is really very cool. They collaborate on gorgeous things like this and this. They're doing some shows and things here coming up and streaming them as they go; I think the next one is on the 30th? The one tonight was really neat, with lots of interesting shorts and live collaboration.
And then in the middle of it Joseph Gordon-Levitt sang (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. And he rocked it.
(Jesus Christ, I can't believe I'm fangirling over JGL and Leonardo DiCaprio. MY TWELVE YEAR OLD SELF HAS TAKEN OVER MY JOURNAL. SEND HELP.)
c. Tangentially, have some suit porn.
2. So some people asked me for top fives of things.
zulu wanted to know my Top Five Mood Altering Beverages:
1. Coffee. Glorious, glorious coffee. I have tried to give it up before (though I have, somehow, never developed a caffeine addiction), but then I thought, "Why the hell would I want to?" I love it so. I love it in all concoctions, from stand-up-a-spoon-in-it black to filled with milk and caramel and blended within an inch of its life.
2. Maker’s Mark. I have been through many phases in my booze-houndery. In college, it was light rum and/or whiskey; when I was in the Park Service, it was almost nothing but homebrew beer (rangers are self-sufficient, y'all). But my latest love is bourbon, and Maker's is my favorite. I particularly like it in manhattans, but I have never picked up the knack of making them, so usually I just drink it with ice. And it is delicious.
3. Young’s Double Chocolate Stout. IT IS CHOCOLATE BEER, Y'ALL. I don't need to say anything else.
4. Red-style beer. I thought I knew what this stuff was called, but then I looked it up on the google, and I realized it was way more complicated than I thought. Oh well. I like red ale and red lager equally. My favorites are Mojave Red and Diamond Bear Irish Red, neither of which are readily available here, MUCH TO MY CHAGRIN.
5. Earl Grey tea. I have drunk a lot of tea in my time, but Earl Grey is still my favorite. I just have a thing for bergamot.
gaffsie asked for my Top Five Crossover Pairings:
1. John Sheppard/Tony Stark. I think they just go together, y'know? They both have this smirky-yet-secretly-vulnerable thing going on.
2. Lisa Cuddy/Elizabeth Weir. I have this massive backstory worked out in my head that will never be finished about how they totally were roommates in college, and they were BFFs and also doing it, and Elizabeth and House almost came to blows about it.
3. Jim Kirk/John Sheppard. Okay, I kind of started it, but
roga made me ship it.
4. Servalan/Everyone. I feel like it's self-explanatory. You're all bottom for Servalan.
5. Gregory House/Inara Serra. Hear me out. I had this whole elaborate plot worked out for them that was supposed to follow on from Lifestyle. House totally figured out she and Cuddy had been bodyswapped, and they became sort of allies (and they did it a lot). Also maybe Cuddy slept with Mal. IDK, IDK.
3. You guys, the semester starts SO SOON. I still do not have A SCHEDULE. But it is OKAY, because I will have something to do other than sit around at the house looking at fuckyeahinception (not that this is an unequivocally good thing).
