I also am unclear on whether they're voting to ban only het or all "always a girl" fics, because I've seen quite a few that were femslash, too.

They're voting whether they should ban or explicitly allow (because their rules don't make it clear so far) always-a-girl fic. They're explicitly saying all the rest is not and had never been an issue.

Right, but I think their problem with het is mostly actually a 'it's not slash' problem. If both guys are girls in an always-a-girl fic, then that's also not slash - I think the same objections to it would then apply, no? I admit that's a guess, but it seems in keeping with what I've seen people object to in other discussions in the past.

Honestly, I'd say that my always-a-girl!John/always-a-girl!Rodney fic is slash. It's f/f, but I define slash as same sex fic, not strictly m/m.
