Guys. Can we talk for a second about how much I love my new cell phone? It is a Palm Pre Plus, and I am inordinately fond of it. Quite frankly, all other smartphones should bow before it. It has a keyboard and a touchscreen and dude I can actually use it, unlike the iPhone (I wear my nails long, you see). It has been at least three years- no, four, damn- since I got a new phone, so clearly I have never had a smartphone. I am so excited that I wrote this whole entry on it.

I will admit that so far, the battery life sucks. BUT YOU GUYS. I AM SO HAPPY.

(Also I am watching Holy Grail with shadowen. This also makes me very happy. <3)

I've been thinking about getting the Palm Pre, but I have Sprint and the Plus isn't available from them. It looks really cool and I love my Palm Centro. However, it's not 4G compatible and it's at least 2 years old. On the other hand, I've had Palm PDAs and phones for years and always been happy with them. And 4G isn't available in DC but you still have to pay the premium for it, which is crap. Maybe I should just change carriers.

Almost forgot Re: battery life- is the Bluetooth on all the time? How often is it checking emails, Facebook, Twitter, etc? Check the apps- often they are energy hogs. There are a couple of settings you can change to make the battery last longer. And the manual should have some suggestions too.

I think I'm just not used to how fast smartphones eat battery. I don't leave the wireless or the bluetooth on, and it only checks my email every thirty minutes. I'm just used to the battery lasting three or four days.
