So I went to the GameStop (I wanted Ghost Trick, but they were out), and the guy talked me into buying Lego Harry Potter for the DS (Let's all be honest: it didn't take much). And I wasn't sure I'd like it, because I'm a turn-based girl at heart, but it's totally charming. I just keep running around smashing things gleefully and ignoring my quests to get more coins ("studs", excuse me). Unlike a lot of games, the DS touchscreen controls are really nifty and make good use of the platform (even if I do keep changing characters accidentally). So that's taking up my time until school is back in (which is next Wednesday, god).

And revisiting Harry Potter in general is sending me searching for my great lost love: really filthy Snape/Hermione stories. You heard me. I am delighted to see that Restricted Section is still in business, especially now that GeoCities is gone. Some of this stuff is actually still worth reading, though the amount of purple prose I was willing to slog through back in the day is, well, it's fucking amazing.

So that's the state of the union. Also I am doing this now:

Choose any pairing or character and I will write a one-sentence story about them. Taking Harry Potter (obvs), SGA, Venture Bros, Metalocalypse, Inception, etc. Y'all know what I write.

Harry Potter brought me to SS/HP, SS/RL, and my dear love, SS/HG. (Why yes, I *do* have a thing for Snape!) SS/HG brought me to ladyofthemasque, which brought me to her profic work, the entire series of which is currently stacked on the floor next to my dresser, all 8 + prequel-ish + same-universe-but-unrelated + collection of short stories. (They were on top of the dresser, but the cats started tussling in the open drawers and making the dresser rock slightly, so I decided I'd better get some of the weight off the front of the top.) Wonderfully smutty books; Hermione has one on her bookcase in Spinster.

Hmm. May I have SS/HG, now that I'm in the mood? ^_^

I've probably rec'd this to you before (I rec it to anyone who will sit still) but if not, check out Seven Preposterous Things. So far it's the closest thing to a canon Snape I've seen and still manages to make it work.

Sorry! If it makes you feel better, I've been waiting for it to finish for the past few years. O_O Happy she's still writing it, though, slowly but surely. I usually don't rec WIP's, but I like this one enough that I often reread it.

To my knowledge, Ghost Trick is out of production already. The poor thing had bad sales figures right from the start. You'll probably need to buy it online unless you get exceptionally lucky locally.
