Help settle an argument: How tall are you? Like, for serious, with actual units of measurement, not like "Three apples high" or ".97 McAvoys" (...actually that's fine, we will take measurements in actors).

If you say it out loud, how do you say Ronon/Raven?

I usually just say the names of the characters (the slash is silent) but will sometimes spell out "A-slash-B" for clarity.
I think I've been gradually drifting from "eff-list/lock" to "flist/flock", but lately favour "dwircle" (what? I like it) and plain old "lock", cuz whatever.
And my CBC-Canadian accent usually pronounces W "double-you" rather than "dubya", but I spell out WIP when I say it out loud.

I totally say dwircle out loud. It embarrasses my friends. :D

It both embarrasses and amuses me to say dwircle, so Ive switched to Droll, pronounced "dee-roll"

Pairing names: It depends on the pairing, but if saying it out loud I usually say either just "Name1 Name2" or "Name1 and Name2" or some kind of portmanteau for some if I like it.

WIP: I only say "work in progress" out loud.

I refuse to shorten "friends' list", my tiny, unnoticed rebellion against portmanteau words.

Thanks for this poll! Without it I would never have realized that I've never spoken WIP out loud (even in my head, apparently, as all options sounded wrong). Of course I hate WIP (and I like to think I would actually just use WIP because SMALL S DOES NOT GET ITS OWN LETTER IN THE ACRONYM, WHAT) and wish them to die a thousand fiery deaths, but I'm sure that's not the point.

If I'm talking to someone fannish, it's Ronon Raven. Otherwise, Ronon and Raven.

And I say "work(s) in progress" when it's out loud. (I don't pronounce the parentheses.)

Usually when there's something like WIP, I pronounce it "work in progress" because I don't like saying "double u" (how the hell do you spell that????).

I pronounce WIP wee-eye-pee. Double-aye is just so ungainly to say.
