Oh I LOVE making fic into epubs. I've been using Calibre. I read all sorts of massive stuff on my nook, which doesn't hurt my eyes like my computer and my tablet do. Yaaaaay.
I just really really hate Calibre, y'know? I hated the GUI, then it wiped all my bookmarks for no reason. Sigil just makes more sense to me, and it doesn't act like it knows better than I do.
Be advised that Sigil is a EPUB maker only- it won't convert files or transfer stuff to your ereader. But! That's what I use the Kobo program for. So. Different goals.
What I was doing before was saving things as html files and then converting them with Calibre. The transferring stuff is easy- plug in and then drag & drop.
If you use FireFox, you can get the add-on GrabMyBooks. Go to a page of links; right-click; choose "grab link". It will add that page as one chapter. Go to the next link, right-click, grab.
I put all the GateWorld transcripts for SGA all 5 seasons into one ebook with GrabMyBooks. It's sweet. (About 5000 pages long, yes, but portable!)
