So, I was out shopping with

shadowen, and we were wandering in the first of several bookstores that we went to in her time here.

I was, of course, in the sci-fi/fantasy section, looking for things that might be interesting or hilarious to read, when I stumbled upon this:

Despite all the casual racism tossed around in my family (which, this year, included the most perplexing racist statement I have ever heard- it was truly one of those "so racist you can't even get mad" moments) and almost throwing a panic attack on the ride back from my grandmother's, it was a pretty good Christmas.

( This is that 'stuff I got' post, because I find those posts interesting. Also contains SEAMSTRESS GLEE and review snark )

"Stackhouse, dear," Sheppard supplied.

"Yes, thank you- Sergeant Stackhouse. He will be returning to duty on Friday," he continued. "On a more personal note, after this meeting, Colonel Sheppard and I are going to have a romantic picnic on the east pier."

"Excellent report, Dr. McKay," Sheppard told him. "And nice ass this morning, by the way."

"Fucking Americans," Carson said into his hand.

McKay brightened. "Oh hey, speaking of which-"

It's a little early, but the deepest desire of my heart is to finish this glass of wine and go to sleep, so:

mini_nanowrimo! \o/ I didn't write every day, but I wrote 14327 words, which is 143% of my target wordcount! Hurrah for me!

1. You guys. Today? Kind of not my day. Drive back from

coffeesuperhero and

leiascully's was fine, good weather, etc, but really long and super boring. And of course, I left my laptop charger at the Couch of Love. And I'm kind of concerned that my hot new dress (from Pinup Girl Clothing, no less) for this wedding I don't want to go to won't fit, even with, er, foundational garments. And I'm just so exhausted, you guys, just totally wiped out. I'm too tired to even veg in front of an episode of Blake's 7.

Except maybe Death-Watch. Even though I watched it day before yesterday. Don't judge me. It is my very favorite.

2. In the category of things that don't suck,
